Imagination in the Illusion Woods is an illustration I rendered for one of my best friends’ son, Parker. His 4th Birthday was coming up and though I haven’t had the chance to visit with him often, since I live on the other side of the country, I suppose I made an impression on him. His awesome and dedicated mother, Katie asked if I would be interested in sketching up something for his birthday. Normally I quite enjoy giving the gift of art, but it hadn’t occurred to me to draw something for someone so young before, even though I recall staring for hours at a painting in our living room since I was about three or four years old myself. So the answer of course, was a resounding yes.Continue reading
My good friend, and fellow Marine is still active and being deployed around the world. He has a fantastic family and two wonderful kids. I thought it would be nice to draw them each something they would like in honor of their sacrificing time with their devoted father.
The young guy received a spider-man image, and for the young lady who quite enjoys My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, I illustrated this poster that draws inspiration from the Eagle Globe and Anchor.
This was quite different content than I usually work on, so it was very fun and enjoyable. Something about drawing really cute and fun things makes you smile more while you’re working.
Thanks to all the service members and their families that sacrifice so much more daily than most of us can ever imagine. – Joshua Keyes
Cheerful I made to Cheer Katelyn! I wanted to print it and mail it with a letter, but my printer isn’t working very well. I put together a fun video of it as well, so Katelyn can watch. I hope you enjoy! Miss you Katelyn!

The original design was from a poster brought from my Dad’s trip to Moto GP a couple of weeks ago. The poster concept and design belongs to Yamaha. The photograph was taken of my Dad riding his Ducati during his Zoom Zoom track day at Reno-Fernley Raceway.
We thought it would be fun to make a parody poster for of him using the same style as the Yamaha poster. I replaced the logos with things that relate to my Dad, military unit crests, friends business, and products that he likes to use, as well as the Reno-Fernley Raceway logo.
This was a very interesting project for me, it gave me a chance to deconstruct and analyze the work of another artist. In the process I learned a few new tricks, and gained some more experience created effects, cleaning up logos, and improved on some logo designs that weren’t sufficiently compatible with the poster as is.
